The day has finally come - I got my cast off this morning!
Doc says that I can probably do all my own PT (I only have to go see my PT if my progress stalls). The bones look like they healed very well and he doesn't see any problems with follow-up or arthritis. He also told me to probably stay off anything but easy biking for about a month while the bone continues to heal and my muscles get stronger. I think I might try some mellow riding in a week or two - he said it's mostly trauma he worries about.
All I can say is that it is fabulous to be able to move my thumb and open my hand all the way again. My skin is really tingly and I'm molting. Ew. I just realized that I can type like a normal person too. Yay!
