Ski boot protectors: Cat Tracks, Yak Tracks, etc.

Back to cat tracks. I wear them more to protect the bottoms of the boots as I have canting. I slip on these as well as boots with gripwalk.

My instructor at Massanutten always put on Cat Tracks when getting to the instructor locker room required walking on wood instead of snow. He had too much done to his boots to want to wear down the soles at all.

I started using Cat Tracks more after replacing the toe and heel pieces on my current boots. It was clear after 3-4 seasons that they were getting worn. Since that model doesn't exist any more, hard to know when it will be difficult to get replacement parts.

For some reason, I can't get the cat-tracks on my boots. So they are sitting in the closet.

Might not be the right size… too small?

Mine were really tight to start out but I submerged them in very hot water to get them more pliable and got them to stretch over the soles. Then I just left them on there for several days.

Same here. Surprised how long they’ve lasted.
