or even a trash bag with arm holes cut out
Any true New England skier has skied in a trash bag!! And like @MissySki, I don't mind a little drizzle if there's a snowy base; it keeps trail and bumps soft and crowds away. Driving rain and ice underfoot . . .not so good. Mitts are indeed the limiting factor, so it is good to have a spare pair for swapping at lunch, but save those fancy Astis for another day!

Snowshoe in WV can be good fun when it's not crowded. They are off to a great start. Note that the trails in the video are the blues on the Main Basin area. Snowshoe is an upside-down resort with a full "village" at the top of the ridge that was built by Intrawest.

Tahoe is getting hammered with snow ! 2-3 ft new snow in the past couple of days. Just got back (before the big storm) and skied 4 days @ Northstar. Snow conditions were great and even got some fun tree skiing in....... well, did hit a few obstacles that resulted in a necessary base grind on my Sheeva 9's. Those obstacles are covered now!

Going back to Tahoe Dec 11 and will ski that week....
Off to a good start !

@Mudgirl630 does the snow accumulate on the stretch of heated sidewalk or can it handle 6 inches no prob?

Both from this morning.

Both from this morning.

So, here is the difference between a heated sidewalk and non heated regular sidewalk.
