Ski Diva Extraordinaire
When I was learning as an adult, I thought that once I learned a particular movement pattern and it worked, then I could rely on it to work into the future. NO! I'd be unpleasantly surprised when conditions were just a little different and it would seem like I'd forgotten how to ski. When conditions change, what worked before often no longer works.Yes! I find that I have to “recalibrate” to the hill when I see conditions look different. I wonder at some point, this will be less of a factor for us in the future! Thank you for sharing your tip and experience.
That's the case when you are learning a lot as a beginner/novice/lower intermediate.
Once you've skied in all different kinds of snow conditions season after season, learned what doesn't work in certain situations, and repeated what does, the surprises go away. Or at least diminish.
