SkiMonster and Liquidfeet, I think it's great that you keep track of your experiences. I started keeping track of my days on my home Outlook calendar this year. I wish I would have thought of it in years past. Memories tend to fade into a big blurry feeling with a few highlights. I remember the big trips, but find myself trying to recall incidences and experiences during the smaller more local trips when talking with family and friends. You know how the conversation goes..."Remember when Sarah first got her helmet and then smacked her head the very next day...That was three years ago?...No, four..etc, etc."

I had not thought of tracking expenses, or perhaps like others in this forum, I am hesitant to learn of the true expense. I have given a lot of thought to setting up a special savings account for next year. Also, I am strategically using credit cards to earn free tickets. This is probably a subject for another thread though.

I refuse to convert completely to a computerized calendar system, although I suppose if I ever have a family, it may be the way to go. In the meantime, my pen and paper appointment book keeps track of days that I ski, where it is, sometimes with whom, the ski I was on, and how it felt. Since I returned to DC, though, it's generally depressing how little I get out, so I try not to count, but it was really nice to look back to 2003 and see the trip I took with my neighbor up to Jay from Boston when, upon seeing a storm system coming up the coast bury DC with 3 feet of snow, we anticipated that work in Boston would be closed the next day, jumped into the car, and headed north. :D Storm chasing in the Northeast = fantastic.

That's awesome. The experiences always seem to fly by too fast, so I try to cherish the memories. Whatever works best for you is the way to go.

On Thursday I hit 51 days. My record was 50 days. With 4 weeks left of the ski season I should hit 60 days or more.

FOUR WEEKS!!!!!!!!!

In New Hampshire we'll be lucky to get past next weekend at most mountains. It's up in the 50's out there daily, there never was much of a base built up, and we do get precipitation but you know it falls in the form of the "r" word.

Copper's closing date is April 15, so I plan to make it until then. A-Basin stays open into May, not sure if I'll venture up there, depends on the conditions.

It's warm so the snow is very soft. Copper reported 9" yesterday. It's supposed to turn colder this week so we'll see. April can be very snowy and cold.

My first day of skiing was Nov. 1 so I'm ready for spring and the biking season.

I also keep track of my skiing on the Polar Heartrate (personal trainer) monitor website. I don't use the heartrate monitor for skiing but for cycling I can download my data to the website.

I'm giggling because I think that if I wore a heartrate monitor while skiing, it wouldn't reflect my exertion but rather the relative scariness/adrenaline rush of a particular run. As in, hey look, HR 175 - that must've been when I went down that crazy chute! :D

A few years ago I was riding on a bike trail with a speed of around 17mph and this woman roller blader was coming toward me on my side of the trail and didn't move into her lane to give me room. I don't know where she was expecting me to go. I went off the side of the trail into the gravel which was scary because I was on a road bike and was clipped in to my pedals. I looked at my hrt monitor and it was reading 185! I didn't stop but I was screaming quite a few expletives at her!

When I get scared skiing i just sit down and cry then I get up and ski down without falling!:D
