Apparently I was just kidding, as the hill I was planning most of my ski days with has been closed continually and my ski roadtrip got cancelled from last minute car failures. So far, I've missed 16 planned days at the home hill from closures, and another 10 from the trip, so 26 out of the 30 or 40 planned have been canceled so far

Anyone else lose a bunch of ski days?

It's time to replan, refactor and find every day that skiing can work its way into.

Your story takes the prize! And I thought we had it bad.

Yikes!

We feel for you. I've put in 20 (or is it 21?) days already this year. Some have been really cr*ppy, but still....a ski day is a ski day!

20 days so far, nice

I'm at 4 days now...but there's hope yet! I'm determined to get out there this weekend, and maybe the nightskiing options will open up for next week. Trekchick's lake effect thread on epic gives a little hope, maybe it'll move over some in a week?

If not, I guess it's gonna have to be me moving over to catch it!

We get asked this all the time, so...

OK,

Are there any other seriously OCD personalities out there that are actually counting their on-snow days for the year??

Or am I the only weirdo? (oh wait, don't answer that!)

14 days. Working this weekend at the local bump to help organize the first weekend of ski school. I might get a few "free" runs in. Actually I probably be sessioning the instructors that haven't skied yet!!

Shwew (wiping brow), I'm not the only one!

Race league tonight was #27 for me, and tomorrow's league will be #28.

The last few years I've only gotten in about 25-30. This year I've already done 22 and I'm scheduled to ski around 50 total. I'm so jazzed!

After a very rough start and postponing our 'big trip' we have 4 days in and scheduled to go again this afternoon.

Our big trip is rescheduled for the last week in February so I have a guaranteed 5 days there.

Is this wishful thinking? we noticed our season passes expire on 4/15/07 however with winter JUST starting maybe it will hang around later. will my pass be honored when we get a mad snow storm in the spring ?

To date 29 days. I ski 2-4 days a week, depending on conditions, other things to do etc.

Next week we have a group coming from Cincinnati so I'm planning on skiing the whole week. When they leave a friend comes in for 4 days. In these next 2 weeks I'll be skiing just about every day!

It depends how you define "days". Does sneaking up for a few runs on the way to work count as a day? I try to make it up to the local resorts 1-3 times a week and on powder days (which have been nil this year) one must do what one has to do. Like they say, there are no friends on powder days. Every woman for herself!

Twilight skiing in the Spring is great----we can watch the sunset from the top of the mountain, it's mild, and by late March, the locals have tired of night skiing. True peace.

My husband and I ski at least 40 plus days a season depending on the weather. We live only 8 miles from our home area and ski Saturday and Sunday days. We ski Monday, Tuesday, and Wed, nights. Thurs. and Fri. nights there are 1500 kids on the hill, we don't go any where near it!! We have only skied 20 days this season, very low for us by now. The weather was so bad in Dec and early Jan that our area was not open very many days then. Now it is so cold and windy at night that we are not skiing nights. I hope this bitter cold and wind goes away soon!!

Normally 24-25 days a year. Not too bad for flatlanders. We usually take 3 1 week trips to Colorado and ski 8 days per trip. Plus 1 or 2 days on a bump here in the midwest. We haven't gotten that many days in the last 2 years so I am kind of spazzing out. I broke my ankle 2 years ago (bad snowboard) and missed out on 1/2 of my skiing that year. Last season we took a 2 week trip which doesn't get you as much skiing.
We are on track for a 'normal' season this year.

I count, and this year, I'm even keeping track of where I'm skiing and with who. It's a great sport for us Type A OCD folk. :D

Today will be day #13, the first of four days of skiing at Big Sky (we arrived last night). I usually ski Stratton, VT weekdays and a local hill in Charlemont, MA on weekends. I'm also going to Smuggler's Notch VT the last week of March, so I hope to get 25+ days in this season! I did 17 last season, not sure how many in 04/05 which was my first ski season -- probably around 12 I'd guess.
