There's a difference in N.A. than in the Alps. In north American, we're allowed to ski through the forest. So on a day that has poor visibility, we can simply ski below the tree line. Snaking through the trees can be great fun! As such, some of the "non-blue-bird" days could be really good days to ski, even when it's snowing (or raining) hard, because the snow surface condition can be very good on such days. How much of your skiing days where bluebird days???
I'm for quality of the weather before quantity of skiing days .... :D:D

I understand your concern. I wouldn't want to be far above treeline when the sun is not out. One can't even tell which way is up vs. down! And the grave concern of skiing into the next valley that has no lift!!! :(
Last day, #74 was yesterday. Best season ever! Topped off by about 13 feet of snow in 10 days at Alta and the last two days being those clear sunny bluebird days. With season pass there, averaged about $13.50 per day to ski.
33 Yay, it got cold here, and it snowed in the mountains! Not a ton, but it sure looks "purdy" again!Holding at 32, and possibly done. :(
Still several weekends left to the season, so there's still an outside chance of more??
Up to 24....
I'm going to be royally pissed if we can't get out of town tomorrow.... 25 ... and if I can make it out of town tomorrow, pending weather, 27 by Monday. See, we're still going strong!
I didn't even try to keep track this year, and I'm actually pretty happy about it. Not counting days this year allowed skiing to be what it really is for me - not a goal, not a challenge, not a competition. Just fun and utter happiness. I feel like I skied my brains out, and that's all I really need to know.
MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY
And it ain't over yet, folks....
