Edit: I just checked the NELSAP site to learn about Birdseye. I belong to a ski club that has a house in W Rutland which is just a few miles from Birdseye. The house was purchased around the same time Birdseye was developed. I'll have to ask my aunt and some of the other long time club members about skiing there in the early 60s. Hopefully I can make some time next winter to wander around Birdseye. Thanks for making me aware of this lost area.
