I too am seeing one piece snowsuits as a “thing” even at Beech Mtn. NC! Have you checked eBay? I checked just for fun and there are quite a few listed. Good luck!
That’s so cool to hear!! I think they should totally make a comeback!! For someone like me that usually doesn’t buy “sport-y” coats, they seem to make sense. I prefer the style of longer coats that cover my legs but the downside to that is that a pair of actual warm snowbibs (or even regular snowpants for that matter) don’t really work with a coat like that I think. I thought long and hard about buying a jacket+bibs set since that seems to be the “normal” thing to do but #1 it would definitely be a little more money and #2 I realize that I would never wear one without the other anyways so why bother? The bathroom issue doesn’t bother me (but for people that are worried about it, a lot of the ones I’ve seen even have “bathroom access” built into the design!) and when we originally started looking a snowsuit is kind of what I already had in mind and I realize I don’t want a jacket and bibs at all, I totally want a snowsuit!
I did check eBay but most of what I found was vintage stuff, which exactly as liquidfeet said would make me feel like I just came out of a time machine!! Liquidfeet you totally took the words out of my mouth! A modern contemporary look is definitely what I want and seems to be hard to find in a style that isn’t waaaay over the top which I also found on eBay and Etsy a lot (I don’t want crazy patterns, contrasting colours and big fur hoods and cuffs).
You’re right about the lack of insulation on the snowverb suit. I suppose I can layer, but how much do you think I’d need? I’d really like to just put it over sort of regular clothes (sweatpants/jeans and a jumper?) but I think I might need more layers with that one. Some people in the reviews are saying it is insulated... but it certainly doesn’t looks as warm as some others I’ve seen. On the other hand I guess I don’t want to be too hot either so maybe it’s a good thing??
The last thing I want is for people to look at me like I’m crazy for wearing one so it’s great to hear more people are hopping on the snowsuit train! There’s something about a snowsuit for me personally... it just seems warm and cozy. When I have to venture out into the dreaded cold to walk the dog that’s exactly what I want. Maybe it takes me back to being a little kid playing in the snow That one from Etsy looks like I could just curl up and fall asleep in it on a long drive!!!
I’m starting to feel like a member of a movement lol!! Long live the snowsuit!!!
