First, about boot-fitting -- must, must, must!
My first boot was "comfortable" when I stepped into it at the store -- I thought it was good cos it FELT good. BUT... when I was on the hill and leaned forward (in ski stance), dang... TOO MUCH SPACE! My "comfy" boot was TOO BIG!!
AS you can imagine, lots of feet pain problems -- arch cramps, aching calves, toe bang, you name it! After getting the shell punched out, liners filled in etc, the easiest thing was to buy a proper-fitting boot in the right size!
So now that I have learnt my lesson:
1. Get the RIGHT SIZE
2. Get a pro bootfitter to get it all fitted
3. Never rest till it fits
And as for skis, if anyone is interested in a pair of Blizzard Black Pearl skis (166 cm), I'm letting them go for $495. Skied only twice, almost brand new. It features rockered tips and nice side cut for easy turning, and yet plows through crud and pow nicely.
