I think they will take care of you. This is a very rare occurrence with Volkls. None of mine have ever been damaged. I just had bases ground, and everything tuned on Gavin's old Volkl Supersport Allstars. The top sheets are a bit of a mess having survived 4 years of Bob and 2 years of Gavin! The bases came back pristine. Gavin was giving them to a friend who moved to Flagstaff to attend NAU. I love it. I taught that kid to ski! My old AC3's same story - except the top sheets were pristine also because I am gentle.

Got an email response from Volkl yesterday asking for more pics and telling me it was NOT a warranty item, but that they MIGHT be able to match up a single ski for me. So, good news is I don't need to send them in, but I might be SOL. Crossing fingers...

I wonder why it's not a warranty item? It doesn't appear to be caused by anything you did.
I caused some rippling of the bases of a pair of skate skis by using too hot an iron on too cold a ski, but there are no metal edges on skate skis.
I'd get clarification from Volkl as to what constitutes a warranty replacement.
