Good article in Outside. I like how it focuses on being respectful of people who live in mountain towns, as well as resort employees. It's been a tough few years, and it's good to remind people of that.
Hahahaha - I do the same thing. But I've never worried about if it's annoying them or not, just thought I was being polite. So you're a bit more "midwest nice" than I am!So, I have a question that seems really nitpicky. I always thank every liftie every time my butt hits the seat, and I also frequently say hi as I’m navigating up/over/to the loading area.
Is that polite? Or annoyingly forcing the liftie to engage?
I can’t stop myself, but I’m always curious what others do.
Sounds so Garrison Keillor-esque. But I do the same thing - good morning, hi, thank you - often.Hahahahaha @Jenny … I didn’t realize how Midwest nice I’d gotten. That is pretty classic, isn’t it?
”Am I bothering you by being too polite? I’m so sorry for the inconvenience”
LOLOL
Now you’re sounding 100% Canadian!Hahahahaha @Jenny … I didn’t realize how Midwest nice I’d gotten. That is pretty classic, isn’t it?

Yes, thar is polite and letting them know that you appreciate their work is very nice. So, I have a question that seems really nitpicky. I always thank every liftie every time my butt hits the seat, and I also frequently say hi as I’m navigating up/over/to the loading area.
