Grand Targhee Feb-Mar 2024

Been a while since there's been an active conditions thread for Grand Targhee. I'm headed there in early March so starting to pay more attention. Hasn't really been that much snow excitement until recently. Looking good the next couple weeks.

Early March is looking good at GT. Especially since driving weather looks decent on the days my friends and I will be driving to/from Driggs.

Glad I'm missing the coldest day in the next couple weeks at GT, or the Ghee as locals seem to say. Still a bit too soon to know exactly what will happen the first few days of March.

The difference between the forecast for GT and Big Sky makes me think that I might not be using my powder skis at Big Sky. We head there after a few days at GT.

Looking good for early March at Grand Targhee.

There is a freestyle comp Feb. 29 thru March 2. Apparently March 3 is the "weather day." They might need to use it depending on when the heavy snow ends on Saturday.

The southerly winds were amazing today. Never been in Driggs when it was so warm. The roads were bone dry. Should look very different by tomorrow morning.

Going to be frigid tomorrow at GT. Hopefully no more road issues like whatever happened to close the road past Alta, WY on March 2.

The total for the past 24 hours is 20 inches. Hard to know whether it was cold fluffy snow or denser snow like there was on Friday.
