DIVA DOGS!

I have GREAT news tonight, so I wanted to share it here under "Diva Dogs."

I think I've mentioned it before, but Kadie (my Scottie) has Cushings Disease, which in dogs is fatal. She was just diagnosed last Summer and it was a HUGE blow to me and my family.

Long story short, I called in to fill her 2 prescriptions, which I religiously give to her 2 times daily. The doctor wanted to take her blood and do blood work first.

She has been taking Hepato & the other med since then. At first, the main 2 levels that they were looking at were reading at "abnormal" and "36." (the normal level is 15 or lower). This was what got Kadie her diagnosis and was taking her energy away and making her very lethargic! (she is only 6 years old).

Tonight, my vet called me and told me that Kadie is now reading "Normal" and "4"! I'm just SOOOOOO Happy! She is getting healthy and my vet feels that with the continued use of the Hepato and the other thing I can't remember the name of, she will live a very long and healthy life! I'm so happy! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Kadie is SO important to me on SO MANY LEVELS!!! I'm sure all of you dog lovers can relate!

Yeah Kadie!!! :cheer:

Herrrrrre's my boy, Bootsie. We've had him ever since he was about 3 mos. and now he's 8 years old. He is very vocal and communicates with us as if he were human.

His fav things to do are: cuddle with me in bed, sleep in the basket full of clean clothes, put his nose in a glass that has an ice cube in it (he literally falls asleep while doing so, see posted pic), and get brushed with his rubber brush.

I wouldn't trade him for the world!

And here are my two puppies on their 7 foot Tower of Power!

They are sisters and about 8 years old now. Very different personalities. The one on the left is very, very, very chatty and has a lot to say about life in general. :blah:

maisie the cat

Born: sometime in 2000?

I First Met Her: in the Edison, NJ animal shelter -- we were there in pursuit of one (or two!) kittens, but Maisie just kept poking her nose between the bars of her little cage and yowling. she was 7 at the time, but so small we thought she wasn't more than a year or two old!

She is a Native of: new jersey, probably.

Her Favorite Hobby: napping, going outside with her harness, meowing
She Absolutely LOVES: FOODFOODFOODFOODOHGODFOOD. and climbing up in bed to stare right into my face to wake me up.

Profession: cat, duh!

My Favorite Thing to Do With Her: have long conversations via meowing

What we have in common: we both need to be fed frequently. and we both can be at least a little demanding . . . .

How we Differ the Most: she's much more content to lie on the floor all day.

Here's a picture of our cat Cirrus taken a few years ago. She had developed some mats so we had her fur clipped. We started calling her poodle cat - a new breed

I don't think she looks too happy with her new look!

Sisters - Maggie & Lila
Lila is the grey cat, Maggie is the human in a white fur coat

First met:- March 2001, they were 4 days old and very very ugly.

Natives of:- Sussex UK, have lived in London, Connecticut and Colorado. They have passports, but refuse to speak any other language than Persian.

Hobby:- Receiving as much attention as possible, from anyone. Anyone.

Profession:- Looking cute and in need of attention

Favourite thing to do:- sit on me

In common:- Enjoying sitting in the sunshine.

Differ the most:- I have street smarts. These two were indoor cats and have just met dogs for the first time. The white one didn't stop rolling around the floor on her back, didn't even tense one muscle - was probably hoping to get her tummy rubbed!

Like Cirrus (cute cat) these two also got Lion cuts for their travels, they looked like Aliens, and had disgusted expressions. Their fur is growing back now.

What a couple of ultra-fluffy beauties! They sound very sweet.

Why is it that we feel so special when our kitties... er "puppies"... decide to sit on us? It seems to be fairly universal.

Edit: Oh yes! And congrats on getting the pics attached. :becky:

Thank you on the congrats. I have lost a few fingernails and discovered a few things about my IMac, as well as having accounts on every photo hosting site out there! Using Kodakgallery is responsible for the first miss.

It doesn't matter what shape or size our kpuppehs are they do make us feel special when they select to spend time with us.
