United charged us $40 for our ski bag

. . . and it was 48 pounds. The package we bought for our Whistler trip had us fly in on Air Canada and out on United. Air Canada didn't charge us a cent for any baggage. But we had to pay $80 to fly our ski bag and another checked item home. $80!!!

I've gotten into the habit of printing out the baggage policy of whatever airline I'm flying. The funny thing is, I've never had to use them... untill this trip!

And the only time it could have been helpful was the only time when I was late for check-in. I was more concern about my skis making the flight than how much they got charged...
