It was actually in the backcountry rather than in bounds. Not that makes it better that someone died, but just so everyone knows. We've had a lot of snow the past couple days plus Crystal had 100 mph winds last night. Avy danger is rated "considerable" today.

1 dead after avalanche on Crystal Mountain
Six skiers were swept up in an avalanche in a backcountry ski area in Silver Basin, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
