Who wants to own a ski area?

Yeah, Mt. Diva! We could charge men extra. We could have different-colored clothes days, eg. pink on Wednesdays. We could have a masseuse in each lift line. The mirrors in the bathrooms would make us look skinny. The lifties could be paid extra to say things like, "You sure look good today!" The cafeteria could sell SlimFast and chocolate-dipped strawberries. We could have our own boot specialist right on the mountain with particular expertise in high arches and skinny heels. The instructors would emphasize how much fun we have and how it feels. Nobody would be allowed on the mountain in a royally ugly outfit. And smiles would be required equipment for all skiers. Cool.

You had me at the chocolate dipped strawberries. Mt Diva it is. All we need to do now is recruit enough divas that 50 bucks from each of us does it :D

Hey, why not? It has worked well for Mad River Glen over the years. I'm all for it! How about getting....say 500 women shareholders @ $2400 apiece, including season passes for life. Just think of it--we could get a tax write-off for skiing!

Someone on EpicSki had the same idea, and called to find out more about it. Last I heard it was under agreement.

Hmmm....maybe we could get more info on their deal. Single owner/small group/consortium, any room for more investors, pattern for us to use on another deal in the future, etc. Anybody heard about any other mountains for sale?

I hate to be the one to put a downer on a GREAT idea but it would take about $50 million to make the place skiable. Add in lift updates, snow making, groomers, and not to mention INSURANCE and that is just the beginning. Sorry this is what happens when your husband used to run a ski area, I know to much about the pit falls.

Well according to the Tremblant Express - Panorama is up for sale. Intrawest-Fortress has a plan that doesn't include another BC resort.

I agree...minor bump in the road. Im in!!

FYI...I finally bought a pair of skis. I got a great deal on Volkl AC2 and Technica M8 boots. I was a very hard decision and I hope I made the right one
