Tons of snow at Tahoe!

The Sierras are really getting hammered. I hear they've recently received 2 to 3 feet of snow, with more on the way.

Can any Tahoe Divas confirm this?

For those of you who are planning to come to Diva week or TheSkiDiva/NASTC clinic, it's going to be amazing, if things keep up this way! :yahoo:

It is true but it is windy and very low visibility.

That will pass.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on this from FirstTracks:

Lake Tahoe, CA - A seemingly endless series of Pacific storms has drawn a bead on the California coastline, dropping immense quantities of snow upon ski slopes throughout California and into the desert Southwest.

The second wave hit the Sierra today, leaving in its wake over two feet of fresh snow on Lake Tahoe area slopes that have accumulated more than 17 feet of snow already this winter season. Recurring storm waves are forecast to continue for the next several days, delivering several feet of additional snow and setting resorts up with exceptional conditions into the core of the ski and snowboard season ahead.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), significant snow will continue to fall in the Lake Tahoe area through Friday with a slight chance of snow on Saturday and Sunday. And after the letup over the weekend, NOAA is predicting more snow next week.

“This is shaping up to be a record winter,” said Tourism Director Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association. “Significant snowfall in December and January absolutely sets us up for the ski season, but as many know, some of our biggest storms come in February and March, so there will be plenty of powder days to come.”
