"romantic" hotels/b&bs on a budget

So, since I got the DBF out on the slopes and he wasn't completely miserable , we've agreed to plan a little "romantic" ski weekend sometime this winter (probably in January sometime, oh wow that's coming up fast!).

I figured I'd ask the Divas if any of you know of nice hotels or b&bs in ski towns in the New England area that I might be able to get a decent deal on. I know we're not talking $50/night or anything, but I definitely can't afford $200/night either, especially after lift tickets, food and all that. So, does anyone have any good, relatively inexpensive experiences?

My sister just booked a weekend right across the street from Jiminy Peak, at "Vacation Village" condos, in Hancock, Mass. it's not a BnB but it's only $130 per night for a 1 BR with open up couch, small kitchen, fireplace, outdoor heated pool, etc. It looks really nice and has nice reviews.

Go to some web sites of mountains you're interested in skiing and look for ski & stay packages. These usually include the night's stay and a lift ticket, and sometimes also include breakfast and shuttling.

We booked a trip to Whiteface for $99 per person, per day (so $200 for a night's stay and two lift tickets). Also booked a night at Windham on the way home, and that was $79 per person, per day. Pretty sweet!

I just looked up some packages at mountains in Southern Vermont, and of course the ski & stay packages are much more affordable mid-week. Take a look:

Acadia07, Thanks! By chance, do you remember where you stayed at Whiteface? It's a bit further, but I've done the Adirondacks on summer weekends and done countless weekends in Syracuse, so that length drive doesn't bug me that much.

I stayed at the Chester House Inn in Ludlow (Okemo), bought the ski/stay package because the price was pretty good. It was a nice place, the owner was a nice guy and the rooms were pretty. I'm not really into the B&B thing, though, so I don't know if it was romantic, since staying at B&Bs always kinda reminded me of being in my parents house (i.e NOT conducive to gettin it on). The breakfast in the morning was yummy though (i remember having french toast with fresh fruit that was really good) and our room had the steam shower which was really nice after a day of skiing.

If you are planning to ski at Mt Snow, consider the Nordic Hills Lodge. The rooms are cozy and clean (and well appointed), it's 10 minutes max from the base of the mountain, and there's a full a la carte HOT breakfast included. We haven't been there yet this year, but last year it was $130/night.
There's a great fireplace in the main common room, and dinner is also available for an additional price.
We especially like getting our breakfast at 7 am , so we can get on the mountain good and early.
There's also a hot tub if you are so inclined.....

We aren't actually going to Lake Placid until the end of Feb., but we're staying at the Crowne Plaza: https://www.lakeplacidcp.com/

It doesn't really have that romantic B&B feel, but it's pretty and very convenient. It's right downtown, so we can go out and have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving. Also, the S&S package includes a full breakfast and the shuttles to Whiteface stop right at the hotel.

I have stayed at the New England Inn near Bartlett, NH countless times. I even got engaged there. They have several options from B&B, cottages, log cabins, hotel rooms. They also have the best home cooking at Tuckermans Tavern at night. Don't know what the rates are ATM. https://www.newenglandinn.com/

Try the Tucker Hill Lodge in Waitsfield, VT (home to Sugarbush). You should be able to get something there around $130-140 a night (maybe less midweek). Clean, comfortable and friendly inn. Great breakfasts

In case anyone cares:

I bit the bullet and booked a weekend for the BF and I. Ended up going with the end of Feb and we'll be going to Okemo. Their Ski and Stay rates were rather misleading, as I was quoted around $1000 for slopside for two nights/two people . I searched and searched in areas all over New England and finally settled on staying at the Inn at Weathersfiled ( https://www.weathersfieldinn.com/ ), which is in Perkinsville, not terribly far from Ludlow. It seemed to be the best balance I could find between super expensive and cheap (but not that cheap even) and dumpy. Still a decent chunk of change, but hopefully it will be a nice stay and good skiing!
