Flip side: Vail is doing some serious laying-off at this point at all their resorts. Not good. Specifically, they usually hire extras for the holiday season: instructors and coaches, etc. Not this year. So those who rely on this season as a way to make extra money as "pinch-hitters" (i.e., unable to commit to full season) are SOL, no matter their level of certification or experience. :( Speaking from familial experience....
