It's not so much domestic flights you have to worry about, it's the flights coming back to the US from out of the country.
It's going to be VERY interesting when all those folks leave Vancouver after the Olympics finish. Right now, Canada has a ZERO carryon restriction in effect. From the Transport Canada site:
"...Passengers may carry with them one or more of the following items: medication or medical devices, small purses, cameras, coats, items for care of infants, laptop computers, crutches, canes, walkers, containers carrying life sustaining items, a special needs item, musical instruments, or diplomatic or consular bags."
