Question: Kidney stones?

Anyone have experience with kidney stones? I just spent a very painful day in the ER to be diagnosed with two small stones. Fortunately they won't require surgery but they still need to pass. Ugh!! Any advice or experience from the Divas on how to cope?

Thanks,
Claire

Demerol.
Seriously. I waited for three days for one to pass and finally asked to have them take it out.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

DH had one and I have never seen him is so much pain. He never drinks enough liquid (in my opinion).

The kidney stones landed him in the ER one morning. After IV pain killers and 2 bags of saline, he passed the stone(s) and the pain subsided. The doctors told him that he needed to drink at least 100 oz of water a day - coffee and tea don't count.
