This totally makes me want to become a patroller. Never mind I need to be able to ski much better, learn the medical stuff, want to get up early, and lift heavy loads. . .

I guess it might not happen in this lifetime!

...and work with explosives in horrible weather conditions...definitely a tough job.
Not all patrols use explosives. Typically the paid pros use them, the NSP volunteers do not handle them for insurance reasons. Some mountains are not steep enough for terrain than requires their use.

I don’t think any mountain I’ve skied needs explosives. Impressive to be doing it, though!
