Question: Flow Cytometry???

Do any of our wonderfully wise medical divas have info on flow cytometry? My OB wants to test me using it because I have ITP and I am not familiar with this procedure/analysis at all.

Anyone know anything about it as it relates to platelet/clotting disorders?

I used to work a lab that did tests for various clotting disorders. Many of the tests we did were not very specific for different antibodies. Flow cytometry is a method for identifying specific various markers and antigens in blood. I have been out of the field for a long time but if you google "flow cytometry" it should help you out.

You may want to Google the terms "FACS" or Biacore too.
