The soup or chili (red and/or green chilies) in the cafeteria is $6.50. All the food is great. The daily lunch special is $14-15 and includes dessert.
All the food is priced to the nearest 25¢ . Cash is required for under $10. No need for any coins except quarters. If you need quarters, they have a big box of them at the ticket windows to make change.
My crew have done our early season trip to Wolf Creek three years in a row. WCSA has been 100% open the week of Dec. 11. That was true even in 2021 and 2023, which were low snow situations in Colorado. We caught snow storms every trip, meaning over 8 inches in 24 hours. It's been worth cooking more dinners in a bigger house to stay on the South Fork side.

Actually, the locals mostly boot up at their car from what I could see. Of course, we've been there in December when there aren't that many people. Although the first trip was in February and few people were booting up at the base lodge.
