Boots....

Does anyone else here wear Dalbello boots? I love my boots but they are getting packed out. I spent hours in the shop when I was fit for these and comfortable does not adequately describe how well they fit. Because of this I am inclined to stay with the Dalbello line.

I'm interested in the Electra 10 and Electra 8. Has anyone tried either of these boots? Thanks.

SnowHot is a fan of the Storms and Kryzma (I think that 2nd one is correct...?). I tried on the Storms and loved them, but I already have new boots so I will have to wait. I don't know anything about the Electras, sorry.

I second the request . . .

. . . for any info on the Dalbello Electra 8 and 10. I was looking at the 8 for my next boot. I have old Dalbellos that have held up well for years, but it's definitely time for an upgrade. Any comments on the above-referenced models are much appreciated!

looks like we're going to have to do our own research and report back.

I can't find them locally. Will have to keep my eyes open in my travels.

Have you considered getting the Dalbello Intuition liners for the boots you have? Depending on how old your boots are, it's a worthwhile upgrade if your boots are otherwise dialed in and still have plenty of life in them. I got a pair set up in my Salomon Rush 8 boots last year--best investment I've made for boot comfort and performance.

Hi, sorry I missed this thread, but I'm still catching up from a bit of time on the slopes.

I have had three pair of Dalbello's, all of which are from the Krypton line. The Krypton line is not the same as the Electra line. IIRC the Electra line is a tad higher volume than the Krypton line.

My foot is ideal for the low volume Krypton's. I currently have the Storm set up soft for park and bumps, and the Kryzma, set up stiff and ideal for more aggressive carving.

Its all about the feel and the fit.
I love my Dalbello Kryptons!

The guy at my local ski shop steered me towards the Kryptons, and I have heard a lot of good things about them, so I'm going to give them a try. I really need to have just one boot, and these seem to be a good all-mountain option.

I did consider just replacing my liners, but my boots are truly old and there have been SO MANY advances that I think the only way to go is new boots. I'm going for a fitting on Wednesday and cannot wait! The only downside is that I have to stop my day on the moutain early so that I have enough time to do a real fitting before the shop closes!

I just bought a pair of '09 Storms and can't wait to try them out. After losing both of my big toenails last season, I decided it was definitely time for new boots. So, I went to a professional bootfitter and brought my old boots with me (Lange)...and he said they were at least 10 mm too long for me! I wish I had known that earlier. One reason he recommended the Storms for me is that the middle buckle (of three total) will help hold my ankle in place. He also recommended wearing different socks. I had brought my usual ski socks with me and he said they were too thick. He recommended the FoxRiver lightweight ski socks that are a blend of wool and silk--apparently socks with silk in them help prevent feet from slipping around. Anyway, I think I must have had the Storms on for almost an hour in the shop and he made lots of adjustments for me. They are definitely the most comfy feeling boots I've ever had on.

I tried the Storms, but they were far to wide for my foot. I have an extremely narrow foot and heel and the Dalbellos just felt way too wide - I could lift my heel up quite a bit. I loved my old Dalbellos, but these did not work for me at all.

I went to a good bootfitter and, after looking at my foot, he brought out a few different pairs for me to try - two Atomics and a Nordica. They all felt great - very narrow and cushioned my foot well, but the Atomic Hawx 110s were absolutely DIVINE. They felt like a glove instantly, and even more so after heat-molding the liners. If you have narrow feet, I highly recommend giving these a try . . . they are incredibly comfortable and offer great support. I skiied them today and had a blast!

Sounds like he tried you in the standard liner and not the ID, is that true? The ID makes all the difference in the fit of this boot.

I tried them with the ID liners but, obviously, did not go through the process of molding the liners to my feet - the boots felt really wide, even with an insole/heel lift, so I opted to try others, rather than hope for a miracle with the ID liner! I think the Storms are a great boot, but not the right fit for my narrow feet. As a Dalbello fan, I was really set on the Storms, so I'm glad I found and tried the Atomic Hawx.

I was surprised at how narrow the Atomics were - very nice for those of us with narrow feet and heels. Spent my second day in the Hawx 110s today and they are fabulous - they put me in the driver's seat while keeping my feet comfortable and warm
