Question: Backcountry/Off Piste Pack

I'm looking for a lightweight backcountry pack. I'm 5'4" I currently use an old DaKine Heli Pro, but am looking to improve. Something in the 1200-1500cu.in. size. Preferably with interior compartments for shovel/probe. Anyone have any favorites?

i have the black diamond bandit and love it. it may be a little smaller than you are looking for, but it is specifically made to fit a shovel, probe etc. i do wish it had a more secure interior pocket, however, i love the way it fits (small enough to not get in the way, and big enough to carry what you need)

my husband has the covert and loves that too, but i thought it was too big and bulky for me. May be closer to what you are looking for. I am 5'6" and just now starting to get into doing a little back country/ off piste stuff, but nothing too intense yet. (although am wanting to start to do more  )

also want to mention my husband has the dekine heli pro too and wanted to upgrade and got the BD covert. so again that may be more of what you are looking for.
