i have the black diamond bandit and love it. it may be a little smaller than you are looking for, but it is specifically made to fit a shovel, probe etc. i do wish it had a more secure interior pocket, however, i love the way it fits (small enough to not get in the way, and big enough to carry what you need)
my husband has the covert and loves that too, but i thought it was too big and bulky for me. May be closer to what you are looking for. I am 5'6" and just now starting to get into doing a little back country/ off piste stuff, but nothing too intense yet. (although am wanting to start to do more
