Nervous about buying before demoing...anyone want to make me feel better?

I sold my much loved but a bit too short Dynastar Edens at a swap and needed some form of a new ride before demo days; pulled the trigger on the Elan Twilight 84 2014
model @ 159 (128-84-108) -- good deal at around $320 with bindings at levelnine.com.

Anyone a current or former Elan owner? They're very lightweight which should serve me well on the slow lifts at our home mountain in WV. I hope I like them.

I had Elans a long time ago, my 2nd pair of skis. I liked them a lot. Not a brand that you hear a lot about but a good one.

I demoed the Amphibio 88 (and others) last year and LOVED them!! I also enjoyed the Inspire and Insomnia last spring.

Thanks for the feedback @VickiK and @volklgirl! I tried them out today on very limited terrain here in the Mid-Atlantic and they did great. Can't wait to see what they can do when I have more to work with.

I've been skiing the Elan Free Spice since 2008. They're my only ski except for my touring skis, so they get skiied most days. I bring my touring skis on powder days (they're wider), but the Free Spice is the everyday all-mountain go-to. I've had to glue the topsheets back on, but they haven't turned into limp noodles yet. Even after 7 seasons they'll kick me into the backseat if I get lazy and stop paying attention to where my weight is balanced and where my hands are.

Wow @Ringrat -- still going since 2008! That's quite a testament to your love of your Free Spice skis. Thanks for sharing; that definitely makes me feel better about my recent purchase. Btw, in case you're tempted here is a link to Elans on Levelnine.com. They seem to have good prices on a number of models from the past few years.

I wish I could demo more of their line but it doesn't appear that Elans are offered at demo days where I live. Most of their demos are in Canada and Europe according to their site's demo page. Let me know if you get a chance to demo any of their new ones.
