Based on the warm weather Labor Day weekend I wouldn't have picked Sept. either. They hope to open mid-late Oct.

According to the Loveland website clock this morning, still a few days to go before snowmaking starts. However, all ski areas need to test their guns beforehand. I would guess that's what people have seen.
Still plenty of time to pick a date for the Opening Day. Or even the first day of official snowmaking. Looks like if all goes according to plan, I'll be pretty close for the snowmaking start.

Okay, it's official that Loveland is ahead of A-Basins, with 9/25/17 as the start date. Who wants to pick 10/13 or 10/14 for Opening Day? How about 10/21?

Guess I checked the Loveland website too early in the morning today. Not surprising since I'm on east coast time and woke up early. The guns were on until about 9am MT (noon ET).

I have to say, I hadn't really considered THIS week as the week they'd open.... but now I think the odds are pretty good. Of course, I've got a crazy week at work and my parents are in town this weekend, but maybe I could squeeze in a few runs Sunday afternoon...

I just realized that I missed the date that @newboots picked for the Opening Day at Loveland. Looks like she may be the winner! Much to be said for being a starry-eyed optimist. 
Of course, not too late for @RachelV or another Diva to pick a date before 10/15.

I'm pretty sure I'm wrong now, BUT it's not uncommon for it to get warm enough to undo all the snow making work, let alone the natural snow.
