D@#N Knee!

Well it's been 6 weeks and really no better. I'm off to the doctor's this afternoon. Hopefully we can get started with some tests to find out what's going on.

Looking back, I've been doing a lot of squat work this winter. One exercise was with weights, squat back and touch the bench. I kept saying I can't get down that far. "Oh yes you can!" No, I know I don't bend that far in my knees. Hopefully this is the cause and it's just over use. The joint is all that is inflamed now, so we'll see.

If I'm sitting I think I can take on the world. As soon as I stand up.....almost can't!

MRI to be booked and X-ray too. Massage today to work out the kinks in the calf muscles.
Thinking of you, @Jilly - this has bothered you long enough. Time to find out what's going on. Much luck and

Still waiting for appointment time. Doc's office is closed on Friday so I won't hear anything till Monday at this point. Unless the clinic calls direct, but that's not what the doctor said. They will call them, then receptionist will tell me.

Good luck Jill!! I found out after 3 months (from initial injury) that I had a pretty substantial tear in my calf muscle. Glad you are getting MRI/xrays ect.. Today (4 months) I got released from the Doctor/PA. Still no skiing and a visit in Sept/Oct to make sure all is good to satisfy workers comp. As I've learned (the hard way) sometimes it just takes a long time!! Again good luck!!

I've been watching you and VG on FB. I'm hoping for the best. Still don't have a date for the pictures. Good luck biking this summer!

Good luck! I'm in an aircast with crutches right now, thanks to a foot with muscle, ligament, or stress fracture problem (very helpful diagnosis, that). Hopefully you get all sorted out!

MRI's finally booked for 2 weeks from now. I'm suppose to see about X-rays for the same time, but I don't think that they run that department on weekends regularly. Add in the fact that 2 days before all of this I have the eye exam....it's going to be a medical week!

I just want some answers so we know what to do next.

What the heck?!! When/how did you hurt your foot?

I went hiking one day, nothing out of the ordinary, and the next afternoon it started to hurt. That was 4 weeks ago, and although it got worse for a while and not better, I'd say it's about as bad as it was 4 weeks ago. I'm getting good at putting thoughtful looks on the faces of health care professionals, no one has any clue what's going on with it. I've finally stopped hiking and trying to work normally and all those things and am just swimming, so hopefully I'm on the right path now.

So my RMT taped my ankle up today for lymphatic drainage. The swelling really came down. He also did a similar taping on my right knee. The tape is not holding. It was a manufacturer that had a pre-cut design. Fail on this person. We hadn't even got out of the treatment room and one of the "fingers" curled up. But the time I got back to the office another one has too. I'm to report back to him about how long it lasts...

But he did a number of my butt. I remember saying to the personal trainer, "I'm going to be able to bounce quarters off of this butt". Well the muscles are really hard and he decided to work on them this morning. I can still sit....that's a good thing. But I can't do any glute stretches because they involve the knee usually being bent. Which right now is hard to do. Next week all the tests are being done, so hopefully the week after we'll have a game plan to get me back to normal.

Good luck, Jilly! You are really patient to have waited for that long. I am sure MRI and a doctor would know what's going on. Massages are good until you get a real issue, then they might provide a temporary relief but not a permanent solution. As my doctor would say, now it's time to pull out bazookas

Try googling:
navicular bone drop
talus sublexation sp?
tarsal tunnel syndrome

If any of those symptoms sound like what you are having a chiropractor will fix you up in no time.
