Lol, yeah, short days for sure! I wonder what operating hours are???You aren't kidding! As long as you don't mind that 10:10 sunrise (and 3:47 sunset...).

Aww I like our chairlift pic! That looks pretty great to me, although I can't see into the woods. Here is @MissySki and me on a ride up Spruce at Sunday River today. Thank goodness for snowmaking!View attachment 22131
40 degrees and raining at the pass right now. :( It was 64 in the city yesterday! That's just wrong. No wonder I got so hot dog walking. We managed to get a few hours in at Snoqualmie on Christmas Day before it started sleeting, but I'm hesitant to go back until they get a good dump. I don't know how they managed to open up Silver Fir yesterday.
Depends what you want to get out of the skiing. I’ve had a lot of fun on little terrain (in every condition imaginable) in the 13 days I’ve skied so far this season. To me, skiing is always better than not skiing regardless of terrain open.I'm not sure if it's worth it for us to travel and spend the money on a weekend of skiing when there is so little terrain open. Diva West might be our first turns of the season.
It is funny that as someone who coaches skiers about fear, I can not shake my own fear of other skiers crowded onto very few slopes that are icier than normal. I do love skiing, but not being able to make normal turns is a bit of a killjoy. 18 days so far. Many fun moments, but none were free ski days yet...all for work. Not worth the risk when not covered by workman's comp.Depends what you want to get out of the skiing. That’s very real and appropriate fear!It is funny that as someone who coaches skiers about fear, I can not shake my own fear of other skiers crowded onto very few slopes that are icier than normal. Not covered by Worker's Comp? Wow....It is funny that as someone who coaches skiers about fear, I can not shake my own fear of other skiers crowded onto very few slopes that are icier than normal. I teach skiing for work, so I go out and have fun knowing at least medical bills are covered should I get hit or hit a rock. Not covered by Worker's Comp? Wow....
Oh I misunderstood you. Yes, glad you are covered by Worker's Comp as you should be!I teach skiing for work, so I go out and have fun knowing at least medical bills are covered should I get hit or hit a rock.
This resonates so much, minus the teaching skiing part! I have been on gentler slopes with a friend and her kids, but on the firmer snow, I dart out of there in a series of precision skids because I do not want to be around anyone who could slide into me!It is funny that as someone who coaches skiers about fear, I can not shake my own fear of other skiers crowded onto very few slopes that are icier than normal.
