Let’s go skiin’ now, come on a safari with me……

Chalk it up to growing up on the Jersey shore, chalk it up to having a brother who surfs, maybe it goes back to my childhood love of the Beach Boys.  Or maybe it’s just because I love to ski.
Whatever the reason, starting next week I’m doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long, long time:

I’m going on a Skiin’ Safari.

What’s that, you ask?

Well, it’s similar to the Surfin’ Safari the Beach Boys sang about years ago — piling into a car and driving from beach to beach in search of the perfect wave.  Except  it doesn’t involve surfing. Or water. Or even the beach.

Instead, a few Ski Divas and I are loading up a car with our skis and taking off on a journey throughout New England, with the intent of skiing ten mountains in ten days.

Right now our itinerary looks like this: Mount Snow, VT; Sugarbush or Mad River Glen, VT; Smuggler’s Notch, VT; Jay Peak, VT; Burke Mountain, VT; Wildcat, NH; Cannon, NH; Bretton Woods, NH; Mount Abrams, ME; and Saddleback, Maine.

Am I excited? You bet! Some of these mountains are old friends, and some I’ve never been to before. And skiing with a bunch of Ski Divas will make it all the sweeter.

I’ll be blogging about our exploits throughout the Safari, starting on January 22. So hang onto your ski poles and be sure to check back. It’s going to be fun, fun, fun (cue the Beach Boys: ‘til her daddy takes her T-bird away…...)
