Question: Which skis for me???

Hi again all. Well, since I virtually live in a ski resort now I've decided to buy my own gear and need some help with the skis. I'm going to get boots fitted properly after my last outing with badly uncomfortable rentals but need advise re the skis.

About me. I'm 5'6", 170 lbs, age 49 and can't believe I'm starting this at my age (!), had 2 lessons + one day and am very cautious. On my 2nd lesson I had some sort of Rossignol 146's and was doing well. On my 3rd outing I had the above mentioned horrendous boots + 154's (don't know what make) and had a bad day almost losing all the confidence gained on day 2. I have, therefore decided to stick with beginner skis and a shorter length for now.

A friend has recommended the K2 First Luvs and they look great but are there any other equivalent recommendations?

Thanks

You're on the right track with boots.
IMO you're better off getting boots and demoing a few pair of skis, because, as you may notice on this board, some of us love one ski while others find the same ski uninspiring.
The K2 series has done a lot for women's skiing and you may love the first luv but, its a dedicated beginner ski which will not suit your needs in the long run.(maybe not even for a whole season)
I'd say, do some demoing and/or renting while you have your own boots and buy a pair of skis when you can buy something that will stay with you for a year or two.

Put the Blizzard G3 IQ on your demo list.
