Boot-fitting in Calgary
Good point, Jilly. I'm not sure that this is the right place to post this information, so it may need to be moved. (not sure where to? or a new thread?)
I went to SkiWest (14 ST NW in Calgary) for the boots. Here's the link: https://www.ski-west.ca/
A friend who is a former racer used to work there as a university student; they have been around for a long time. I read the advice (posted by VoiklGirl?) about boot-fitting first in the gearpedia section of this forum, but as that shop doesn't take appointments for boot-fitting, I didn't follow the advice to the letter. I don't know the name of the person who fitted me, but while youngish, my understanding is that he is a co-owner. (It's a family business that closes shop for the summer.) I thought he was terrific. After measuring and inspecting my foot, he warned me that the only two boots that he could recommend were on the price-y size (the Nordica that I purchased plus an Atomic), which I thought was respectful. Good listener, too. I'll get his name when I pick up the skis today, as I think other women would also have a good experience.
Great.
Where did you get the boots, for the other Alberta Diva's?
