Weight changes and ski performance

I have gained weight over the last couple of years and plan to lose it this year-by spring! Will a 12 pound weight loss impact a ski's performance ( length considerations too), and how much. Purchasing new skis won't be an option. I need to exchange my Bandits for something that will reward me if I lose weight and forgive me if I don't. Any thoughts?

The performance of the ski depends on skill and the ability to flex the ski.

If you lose a bit of weight and shape up at the same time, you'll find better performance from the same ski because your ability to flex it will improve with physical fitness.

I lost 15 lbs in the past year. I still feel fit, and my muscle mass is in tact. I am skiing on the same skis(okay not the same skis but the same length and type of skis). I'm getting just as much performance if not more, with a leaner body with better skills.

Practice flexing your boot. If you can flex your boot, you can flex your ski.
