Sad news out of British Columbia, from SKI magazine:

A developing story out of British Columbia as a helicopter owned by Northern Escape Heli-Skiing crashed into the side of a mountain outside of Terrace, BC, killing three and critically injuring four. The accident happened around 4:15 p.m. on Monday as the operation’s three helicopters were making their way home for the day. So far, no details have been released on the cause of the crash, but the company confirmed it was a client involved in the crash who radioed back to base.

Ugh terrible, I heard about it the evening it occurred and was freaked as were others (we have loved ones in BC, it wasn’t super clear it was a heli skiing operation at first, they’re not heli skiing but using heli for transport)… Took a minute to compose myself and view the staff of the outfit. The worst.

there was a heli crash on Jan 6 or 7 near Revelstoke as well in glacier national park during the storm. It was not skiing related so no report seen from what we understand. There was a Pilot fatality.
