Ski Diva Extraordinaire
The Devil Went Down To Steamboat
The devil went down to Steamboat
He was looking for a slope to ski
And he had no fees
But he needed skis
And was willin' to make a deal.
When he came upon this young man
Sellin’ skis and sellin’ them hot.
The devil jumped up on a hickory
boards and said,
"Boy let me tell you what:
I bet you didn't know it
but I'm a alpine skier too,
And if you care to take a dare
I'll make a bet with you
Now you carve a pretty good turn,
But give the devil his due
I'll bet a deal between Blizzard and Dalbello against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you."
The boy said, "My name's Philpug
And it might be deserve a ban
But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best that's ever been."
Philpug you tune up your blizzards and carve your
turns hard 'Cause powder’s broke loose in Steamboat
And the devil steals his blizzards
And if you win you get the deal that will make you gold
But if you lose the devil gets your soul.
The devil opened up his quiver and he said,
"I'll start this rift."
And fire flew from his two ski tips
As he rosined up the lift
And he buckled his straps across his boots
And it made an evil hiss
Then a band of Ski Divas joined in
And it sounded something like this
When the devil finished Philpug said,
"Well you're pretty good ol' son!
But sit down in that lift chair right there
And let me show you how it's done!"
Snow on the mountain, Bark Bears Bark
Devil's in the lodge of the Carving Arc
Chickens in the breadpan, picking out dough
Granny does your dog bite? No, child, no
Barking Bears in the Demo Shop, tryin’ out skis
Phil are you sure I should ski these?
The devil popped his bindings
Because he knew that he'd been beat,
And he made that golden merger
And gave Philpug new gear.
Philpug said, "Devil, just come on back
if you ever wanna try again.
I done told you once,
You son-of-a-gun,
I'm the best that's ever been!"
