OK now that I got that out of my system, here we go. It's Bike to work Month. Bike to work Week is next week and Bike to work day is Friday, May 18.

Who rides to work? Who wishes they could? Who wants to give it a try??

I don't bike (don't know how to ride one) but I skate or walk to work. I teach college and preschool, and one campus is too much of a hassle for human powered transport, so I take the train, with a carpool here and there.

Anyone who can bike/walk/jog/skate/con someone into carrying you or in any way get yourself to work without involving a motor, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. It's a great way to work exercise into your day, cut down on emissions, reduce traffic, and it can be highly addictive :D

maybe i'm just dreaming, but lately i've been tempted to give the road a go . . .
i used to ride my bike to work (25km each way) on the highway but i wasn't on a road bike and it was a lil slower . . .

just watching all those other dedicated crazies on the highway makes me smile -- what a wonderful and efficent way to move around!

but then i remember traffic, semis, and exhaust fumes . . . why can't we all just ban the auto and go human powered?
the earth could use the break and we could use the workout!!!

i'm torn . . .

so for now i'll enjoy my hardtail and the happy trails it takes me to -- i get to enjoy the forest, peace, quiet, and the zen of singletrack

but who knows what the future may bring?

and a props to those who commute via cycle -- you're my heros :D
