Odd even on Mountain Creek's calendar

So, I'm checking out the downloadable pdf event calendar for Mountain Creek in NJ, and an event during the weekend of Feb 8 and 9 caught my eye. It's listed as Korean American weekend. None of the other weekends are designated for any ethnic group. So, then I figure out that that's the weekend of Lunar New Year, so maybe that's what the marketers were trying to cater to. But, uh, Lunar New Year is celebrated by more than just Koreans.....I dunno. Just seems weird to single out just one ethnic group and not have any other _____ American weekends. Maybe I'm looking at a draft calendar.....

That's strange. No explanation on there? I wonder if there's some major Koren American community group or something that's putting on an event.

Was Odd Even his first name or first and last?

Many resorts are marketing to specific ethnic groups. There is an article in the December Ski Magazine regarding this, check out "Fall Line". The article mentions Mountain Creek and their marketing efforts to the Asian community.

First name. I think there was a hyphen. He had a last name that sounded like a last name. Hadn't thought about him for years, mostly because he was a senior in college when I was a lowly 'shmen, and I think I thought his name was fictitious.

I'll see if I can find a copy of the December issue. It's an interesting marketing tactic, and makes a lot of sense, given who I saw at Mountain Creek over the weekend. Of course, they're all probably saying that about me, too!
