Knee Brace/Sleeve Suugestions

Hi,
I am looking for a brace with moderate to strong stability. I got a Futuro one with moderate support at the drugstore, but it wasn’t really enough. I’m down a rabbit hole on Amazon. Looking at these Shock Doctor ones with the metal hinges. Any suggestions? Should I also wear a compression sleeve under it?

It will depend on the purpose of the brace and what is contributing to your instability. You have to find the correct type of brace for your specific issue.
The pull on brace with hinges are usually snug fitting already and not usually worn with an extra sleeve underneath.

I use a Mueller knee sleeve to help with some issues that are muscular, rather than joint, related. I sliced my patella tendon in a bike accident a few years ago, and though it healed fine, I just feel like I need some extra support. The sleeve helps.

@Susan L is right, though. The type of brace you need depends on your specific issue.

If the issue is patellar stabilization, you'll want a "j" brace.
But hopefully if you're looking to wear a brace, you're seeing/have seen a doctor or PT about the issue; they would be the best people to guide you.
