Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Here in New Hampshire it rained heavily yesterday and it all froze solid overnight. I detest ice. Should not even have gone out. Today at Gunstock I skied with a guy who---I am not making this up---was skiing BACKWARDS, ON ONE LEG, all the way down the mountain, making these huge pirouettes in the ice. I was incredulous. And petrified because, as I said, I HATE ice.
He told me he skied down the Zugspitze (German Alps) on cross-country skis. He was a biathlete in the 1976 Olympics.
You should have seen his ancient boots---16 years old.
Well, if he takes a bad fall and has to have a leg amputed I guess it won't phase him a bit.
