How much vacation do you get?

Summer is traditional vacation time. The kids are off from school, people go camping, to the beach, to see relatives, etc.

But for most of us here, winter is the time we want/NEED to go on ski trips. Which can lead to some difficult decisions.

So how much vacation time do you get? And how do you split yours up, between summer and winter?

I get 3 weeks of vacation which I'm hard pressed to be able to take. We usually take a week in the summer, several days to a week around Xmas and days off here and there. I would definitely love to have more time off in winter to ski and continue to try to figure out ways to get to this point. At one point, I worked in Germany for an American company and I was in the incredible position of having six weeks/year of vacation while simultaneously earning sabbatical (which I took when I left Europe to come back to the U.S.)
