Headed to Whitefish!

My family is headed to Whitefish on Sunday on the train, for 4 fabulous days of skiing.

If one can believe the extended forecast, it looks like we'll have ideal temps, and maybe some snow the first couple of days!

This is our first trip in 2 years, and our kids (15-yr-old twin boys) are almost as excited about the trip as I am. I'm waiting around as we speak for a call back from the Ski School, to get reservations for lessons for everyone the first morning.

Looks like she had day after day of inversions. I stayed away, but I hear it wasn't that crowded most days until yesterday as long as you arrived early. Finally had some snow yesterday, but not much. My daughter skied, as some friends of hers who are still in college are only home then and she wanted to see them, but me, I like empty slopes and can wait until New Years AM and then I'll poke my head up there.

It was crowded (for Big Mountain), especially on Thursday, with a foot of new snow ont he slopes! But it was worth it.

Monday was sunny up top, but there hadn't been any new snow for a while, so the conditions weren't ideal. Tuesday and Wednesday were foggy, but warm. Thursday was heaven, except for the long lift lines (which we expected for that week).

When you plan a trip a year in advance, you hope for halfway decent weather, and pray for a powder day. We got both!
