Fat ski rental/demos in UT

My family and I are going to Utah in March, and my SO is interested in renting/demoing some midfat or fat skis while we're there. We plan on skiing at Powder Mountain and Snowbasin (possibly one other place, TBD), so rentals or demos on-mountain or in Ogden would work. Can any of the UT divas (or maybe someone who has been there and knows) recommend or provide info on shops local to those 2 resorts, or in Ogden, that could provide such a thing?

Thanks in advance!

I am also going to UT in late March and skiing Powder and Snowbasin. I have been doing lots of research. Powder Mountain rents fat skis, as listed on their website. I did not see anything about fat skis on Snowbasin's website. Also, Alpine Sports in Ogden has discount tickets to Snowbasin, Wolf, and Powder. You did not ask, but I thought I would share.

I hope this helps.

Hey, discounts are good!

I know my SO has checked the ski areas and knows what they've got as far as brand/model. I'm not sure what exactly it is that he's looking for, but I guess he wants options and maybe figured someone local to the area may have an inside track to something. :noidea:

Thanks!

Snowbasin and Powder Mountain are both pretty remote. AFAIK the only rental shops there are part of the resort facilities. Other than that, if you want something specific you'd have to get it in Ogden or SLC. And I don't know any of the shops in Ogden. Sorry!

There is a Canyon Sports in Ogden www.canyonsports.com and they do demos -- but I'm unaware of what mid-fats/fats they'll have. Most likely K2 and Volkl. You may need to make a phone call ...

I myself am making a trip down to Ogden/SLC in February and have done lots of research. I was thinking of demoing some Volkl Auras for the week. We will be skiing Snowbasin and Powder Mtn for 3 days so the rental shops I looked in to are actually in town. Alpine Sports and Diamond Peak Mtn Sports are both in Ogden. We are heading south to SLC and skiing Alta, Snowbird, and Deer Valley for the next 4 days. Utah Ski and Golf has multiple locations all over the SLC valley. All of these rental shops offer a discount if you plan on demoing for more than one day.

Thanks, ladies, for the recommendations. I'm sure my SO is lurking, so no doubt, he'll be making some phone calls.
