A NEW Ski Resort......in Vegas, Baby!

Ok. I just read an article in Skiing Magazine about plans to build a 150,000 square-foot indoor ski dome in Sin City. "We will groom it with cats and other equipment to simulate moguls and create challenges." Simulate? Huh?

The company doing this is LAS VEGAS WET.

You would be able to ski year round! That's a plus....but would it be really crowded? And how would I get my ski tan?

Sounds interesting. I would give it a try. Saw a news feature on Ski Dubai and it looked interesting. I suppose it would be old fairly quickly though........

They're building an indoor ski run in NJ, too, currently slated to open fall 2008: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meadowlands_Xanadu#Sports

I have mixed feelings. I hope it's decent and we can go a few Saturday mornings a month during the summer and fool around. I have a feeling it's actually going to be super-crowded and overpriced. It'll be interesting to see how it does, anyways.

Every three years, we go for a long weekend to Las Vegas for an Equipment Trade Show. While my husband is at the convention center, climbing around on gravel conveyors, I can be skiing!!
