I've Skied Al's run at Taos. Pretty fun, but I wouldn't have expected it to make the top 16.

I skied Corbet's Couloir many years ago and will never do it again!! Scared the crap out of me but I survived and the skiing below was amazing!! I skied Rambo in Crested Butte a few times and it's not to bad if they have good snow. Al's Run is just a really long steep bump run most of the time and Great Scott is one of the most amazing runs at Snowbird you can ski!! You can find waist deep powder days after a storm!!

Glad to see some of the east's steep runs on this list. I've done Black Hole at Smugg's and Goat at Stowe, but I've never been to Mad River. So Paradise will have to wait.

I've skied Als Run, Goat and Paradise. I would say Goat and Paradise are scary because they are often covered with ice and filled with hidden with rocks and other obstacles.

I've skied Paradise at MRG several times. I'd agree that the ice floe that seems to run through it is the scary part.

You wouldn't get me near any of them! I have skied Harakiri though and it was terrifying. I was too scared to ski it properly and fell most of the way down it. I was just glad to get to the bottom.

Love the garage sale on Harikiri.

Seriously if I ever found myself on one of these runs, I'd need my head checked. I can't believe people drop into those chasms. HOLY CRAP. :injured:

Great Scott at Snowbird is just fun. I've never considered it particularly scary. I mean, yeah, there are cliffs in the area, but there are plenty of other areas at Alta/Snowbird with cliffs too.

The list, as one might expect, is somewhat North America/Europe-centric. The nearest I've been to any of them is Delirium Dive at Sunshine Village (from a safe distance on a run at Goat's Eye Mountain opposite). It looked bare and patchy when we were there and not remotely tempting. However, I believe that when there is plenty of snow it's a nice run, particularly once you're past the top bit.

There must be plenty of horror runs in South America and Asia (Gulmarg?) and certainly are a few good ones here -- the more extreme Alta chutes, such as Terminator, Diagonalator etc at Remarkables come to mind, not that I've been anywhere near them, though I've certainly looked at them from the tamer environs of Escalator.
