Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Fish hook in line or in tight places, bazooka if there's at least a 20-foot radius before what in Scouting we called "the blood zone".
My son is now of an age where if he messes up his gear by being careless, he gets to save up to replace it. I'm not buying replacement gear any more. I'll treat him to something at birthday, Christmas - but no "bailout" purchases.I never saw anyone do the gibber drag until a few weeks ago at the base of Steamboat, this teenage girl was dragging her skis across the pavement at the base. I'm not one to treat my skis like they're made of porcelain but all I could think was, 'if I were her parents I'd punish the heck out of her for needlessly messing up her skis'. And then I realized I was old. Sigh.

What's the difference between the bazooka and the local? Where the bindings are? Or is one tips forward and the other tails forward? I couldn't pause it fast enough to tell.
I so wish I was a good enough skier to discover that fact!Funny! I do the local, the fish hook in crowds and I also do the jibber drag on or off the snow. The jibber drag is used when you heli-ski. Heli-ski guides won't let you put your skis above your waist. You don't want to get a ski in the rotor blade!!
Ok, then I'm the bazooka, unless it's a short distance (like to the gondola/chair from the ski rack), then it's the pimp stick. I've tried the local but I have problems setting them down that way, but I'm still trying, because it's slightly easier on my arm than the bazooka.Bazooka is shoulder in between the toe and heel piece. Local is tips forward, bindings behind your shoulder. Reverse local is skis backwards to tails in front.
I use the local most of the time, but the fish hook in crowds or when getting on the cabriolet.
