What fun, and great bragging rights! We did the same in The Netherlands one year (in August)!

I couldn't resist free transit in Dubai while traveling between Thailand and Uganda. It was a unique experience to ski indoor with every piece of gear provided for, walk the gorgeous beach of Arabian (aka Persian to Westerners) Gulf barefoot, and dine at Burj Al Dubai all on the same day. Two hours was more than enough time for the place. I do cringe now when I think about the energy and water expended to maintain it.

Oops, I meant Burj al Arab, thanks!

Then there was Jumeirah Mosque tour and a spectacular desert safari of camel ride, falconry, and sheesha on day 2 of 2...
