Worst season I can remember. We were hoping to go out with a bang when we went to Fernie, but despite there being TONS of snow, it rained every single day, making things decidedly unpleasant. The bowls were closed almost every day because of avalanche danger. I remember getting to the bottom of a run, taking off my gloves and wringing them to get the water out. Oh well.. there's always next year....

I disagree with his "Southern California" conclusions. I have been skiing here since 79 and while it's not the worst season ever; it's definitely down near the bottom. Even Mammoth didn't get what it usually gets. Oh well, weather cycles which may be good news for next year. Sacrificial bonfire anyone?
