France: Morzine, Chamonix

Switzerland: Verbier and 4 Vallees, Leukerbad, Zermatt.

Not a long list and probably won't expand much, because travelling with gear is so much hassle, and who would want to travel far anyway if they had Chamonix and Verbier nearby?

Would love to ski in Colorado one day though...

Haven't posted this year yet...:

CO:
Loveland (I have talked to someone about trying out for volunteer ski patrol here - maybe next year)
Winter Park/MaryJane (bumps,mmmmm:...no wonder my back hurts in the winter)
A-Basin
Keystone (I hear this season is better, but snow has been weak last few years)
Breckenridge (too crowded)
Vail (takes too long to get away from the crowds and parking too expensive)
Beaver Creek
Copper Mtn. (I'm playing hookey tomorrow...you can find me here:loco:)
Aspen
Snowmass (#4 favorite, so far)
Monarch (#3 favorite, skied here as a kid and the lifts are still the same!)
Eldora
Crested Butte (new #1 favorite, I plan to post about the ski package we bought earlier this year)
Steamboat Springs (best family place. The girls love it here)

Utah:
Alta
Snowbird (skied the best powder of my life here about 6 years ago)

Montana:
Bridger (#2 favorite and Bozeman is a great town!...will ski here next Thursday)

NM:
Taos (the mtn. is so steep that the base is in the shadow by 1:30 PM. Base area is not developed like the big resorts, but the town of Taos is a special place.)
Santa Fe

VA:
Wintergreen (The scariest place I have ever skied, never again)

WV:
Snowshoe/Silvercreek

NC:
Beech
Sugar
Hawks Nest
Appalachian

Vermont:
Stowe
Killington (coldest we have ever been)

Canada:
Whistler Blackcomb (Wet snow but lots of terrain. The "Ex" tore his ACL on the first day, but I skied the rest of the week anyway)

France & Switzerland:
Vallee de Chamonix (honestly, the snow was awful the year my daughters and I went, but we enjoyed just being there and the gite where we stayed).

We plan to explore several new places this year, including Sol Vista (because I won a free lift ticket at the Denver Ski and Snowboard Expo), Wolf Creek, Silverton, Big Sky,and maybe a couple of places in Utah if work takes me there.)

I added one new slope in a new state:

VT: Ascutney (started learning 1968), Roundtop (now private club), Okemo, Suicide Six (these last 2 are my "home" mts when I'm in VT) Pico, Killington & Queechee (private club, but open to public a good bit)

NH: Sunapee

NJ: Great Gorge (high school bus trips from L.I. 69-70, I know they've changed the name now, but don't know to what? All I remember is that it was next to the Playboy Club!)

WV: Snowshoe/Silvercreek (we race @ Silvercreek)

NC: Sugar, Beech, Hawksnest, Appalachian(we've raced at those four) and Cataloochee (has "Women On Wednesday" program). Since I live 1 1/2-2 1/2 hrs from these NC mountains they're where I ski most these days. I hope to add Wolf Ridge next season.

CO: Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Vail, Telluride (my favorite out west) & Steamboat (Crescent Ski Council Race camps each December) I L-O-V-E CO skiing!

NV: Heavenly (on CA line-the beer is 1/3 cheaper in CA!)

CA: Squaw Valley, Kirkwood, Mammouth, June Mt.

UT: Deer Valley (while we were there for the Olympics-hope to try some of the others next time I'm out there!)

WY: Jackson Hole

MT: Big Sky, Moonlight Basin (next Jan: Whitefish and whatever's closest to it!)

British Columbia: Kimberly, Fernie

We have a thing when we take others to a new place. We buy them a pin from the place if they ski a black run there. Our friends just love this tradition.

I can now add to my Michigan list:
Sylvan Resort

And to my Colorado list:
Sunlight
Ski Cooper
Loveland

I have a small (but enthusiastic!) list compared to most of the Divas:

CT: Mohawk Mountain
MA: Jiminy Peak, Catamount
VT: Stratton
NH: Dartmouth Skiway

Does indoor skiing in The Netherlands count?

Not a big list, considering that we ski every single weekend. Hmm. Must rectify this situation.

Does anyone else mark up their trail maps to show where they've skied? We started marking the map when we travelled with our god kids. Everybody has a symbol, and we mark the map over dinner each night.

Fernie would be closest, unless you want to take in Blacktail. After those two would be Turner, Montana Snow Bowl, then Schweitzer and the areas around Spokane. Fernie is roughly 2 hours, depending on road conditions, border crossings, etc. I'd say between 1 3.4 and 2 1/2 hours. Blacktail is about 1 3/4 mostly due to its long access road, which goes on FOREVER.

Where have you skied? How many days?

So . . . where have you skied? Altogether?
And, a related question: How many days have you skied, say, in the last ten years?

I'll start:

MD/PA/VA
Ski Liberty
Roundtop
Massanuttin (Spelled like I felt about it at the time)
Wintergreen
Seven Springs
Blue Knob

Vermont:
Killington

Michigan:
Boyne Mountain
Boyne Highlands
Nubs Nob
Caberfae
Crystal Mountain
Shanty Creek

Colorado:
Vail
Beaver Creek
Breckenridge
Snowmass
Aspen
Copper
Steamboat
Utah:
Deer Valley
Park City
Canyons

Idaho:
Sun Valley

Montana:
Big Sky
Big Mountain (now Whitefish Mountain Resort)

315 days, but that's actually in nine years, because I lost one year to the neck thing. :injured:
